Village Hall Update - May 2019

Dear Residents,

Welcome to the May edition of Shelflife, if you have strolled past the back of the Village Hall recently you will have noticed that the extension building work is well underway! The foundations are in and the walls are already up. Soon we will need volunteers to help paint the interior, please let me know if you would like to spare a few hours of your time one afternoon to help.
Our April events for the Quiz Night & Kidz Flix were a huge success raising more than £500! Dates for the next Quiz Night will be announced soon.
The Wedding Dress Fashion Show was also a huge hit and well attended, a big thank you to Vivienne Weeks and the FOSC team for putting on such a fabulous and interesting event.
Coming up this month is our regular Bingo Night, Kids Flix "Mary Poppins Returns", Movie Night "A Star is Born" and The Model Railway Open day. We will also be hosting an instructor led line Dancing session on June 8th, beginners and all levels of experience are welcome to join a light hearted and fun evening. Tickets £5, please contact Ches 01379 64~ 600 or collect from the VH bar Monday & Friday evenings.
"Village Fete"- Preparations are now underway, we aim to have a variety of new stalls and attractions for you this year. Opening the fete will be Robbie West from TV's BBC Look East. Volunteers are still needed to run stalls and help on the day. We also welcome your usual donations for the Kids Tombola, Books, DVDS, Puzzles, Raffle & Auction Prizes and any pre-loved items for the white elephant stall. There will be an Inter Village Tug of War competition this year, if you are up for the challenge and would like to be part of "Team Shelfanger" please let me know.
The Village Hall will be hosting an end of year Pantomime. If you are a budding actor or actress (age 14+) and would like to be involved, please contact Lauren Easter. We will also need help with scenery & costumes etc ...
