There seem to be differing current scams to be aware of week by week. The number of scams indicate that these people responsible are busy. I hear that this week's scam refers to fake Trading Standards wanting to discuss bank payments. I could post details of new ones new ones every week but I think that the real message here is to be wary of any strange call.
Never give bank or computer access details to any one over the phone. If you have a call purporting to be from your banker example, put there phone down and ring your bank yourself from your regular Bank contact ( preferably from a different phone) and confirm whether the call was genuine or not. Even with your own bank, do not give them all of your details as they would normally never ask you to do so.
Just be very wary of these scam callers. If it sounds too good to be true - it probably is.
Anyone sighting doorstep cold callers in Norfolk or concerned about rogue trader activity in their community can contact Trading Standards through our partners the Citizens Advice consumer helpline via their online reporting form or by telephone on 03454 04 05 06.
